When Bradley is quiet...

I get this...

Bradley took the baby lock we had on his door handle off and destroyed his closet. This is just a hint of what he did. By the time I figured out how he was getting in, he had broken a piggy bank, taken every article of clothing off of the racks, emptied out 2 tubs of clothes that are too small, emptied off the top shelf of the closet, torn apart 3 books, emptied out the baskets of blocks, and emptied the bag of clothes I had set aside for charity. It took me almost 4 hours on Saturday to clean it all up and organize it again. Not only had he destroyed his closet he had also emptied every one of his drawers. He is standing on a pile of stuff that he has made. If there was something he wanted down and couldn't reach he just would find things to add to the pile. At one point I caught him on the white shelf laying down hiding his eyes trying to hide from me.

Pizza Pizza

So I always want pizza and I hate ordering it when it is just me at home and Bryan eats it probably weekly on the road so he never wants it on the weekend. So I decided I would make my own and it actually turned out this time. Last time I tried the dough didn't' cook in the middle, burnt on the outside and was stuck to the pizza stone so bad that I had to throw the pizza stone and the pizza away. So this time I was really excited when it turned out. I didn't use any sauce because I wanted Bradley to eat it and not finger paint in his high chair with the sauce, so I made garlic butter and used a little of that as the sauce and then added mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and mushrooms. Bradley loved it and it didn't even make a mess when he ate it.

Food Storage????????

Ok, the Church talks about food storage a lot and how we need to be prepared. Well I have decided to try to get some food storage together, since groceries are going up in price and on the Today show today they said that to expect gas and food prices to skyrocket this summer. So I have no idea where to start on this whole idea of food storage so I started doing some research on the internet and came across this site. It has calculators to figure out how much of everything you will need. I am not sure if this is where I should start but I thought I would pass along the link. It's not a church website so take the content at face value, I haven't read it all, but the food storage link is pretty neat.

http://lds.about.com/library/bl/faq/blcalculator.htm

It gives you numbers for things like wheat, flour, corn meal etc. I am not sure this is were I need to start so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

New Tricks

During Bradley's baths I usually clean up his room and pick up a few things around the bath room. I am always within ear shot and when it gets quiet I go in there and continually check in on him. I don't leave any standing water in there because I leave the faucet on.

After his bath time he was really quiet in his bedroom. He likes to go in there now and shut the door and play. I have quickly learned as soon as it gets quiet he has done something naughty. Usually it is pee, poop, or juice all over the place. One day it was coloring on the wall after he got into his closet and destroyed it. This day I walked in and saw this...

A couple of mornings later I walked into his room to get him up and heard the Cars movie soundtrack going. So I turned the TV off and got him up, then a little later in the day I walked in and found him doing this.

I have now figured out how his TV was turned on that morning. As soon as my dad comes out we will mount the TV up in the corner, but for now I fully expect it to be on every morning. He doesn't know how to turn a DVD on, so he just pushes the button. If you notice in the above pictures Bradley has taken his pants off from under his onsie, but couldn't get them out. But he was able to stick his hand in his diaper and that was his ultimate goal. So we are back to him wear his sleepers with a onsie over them. It is getting warm in the house but he won't quick playing in his diaper so we are stuck with him looking like a dork for now.

Our New Gaurd Dog??

So I was sitting on the couch looking outside and this is what I saw.

The pictures aren't great because I was taking them through the window, because our new friend was on our back door. I was thouroughly disgusted and could not believe it was on our back door. But I am told that lizards (or the aligator as I call him) eat mesquitos.

Great Friends

So I am sure I have told those of you I talk to on a regular basis about how awesome my friends are out here and how much we love Texas. When we moved out here I meet some amazing friends through church. They are awesome people and so much fun to be around. I had started to become a shut in, because I really don't mind siting inside all day, but my friends are great and invite me all the time to do stuff. They have kids too and so we do a lot of kid stuff, but we do slip an occasional girls outing in there. We go to the indoor pool, the zoo, the mall (they have an indoor play area), and the park. I know they love Bradley and watch out for him just as I would. They are great mothers and wife's. They always listen if I need to vent or need advice and are always willing to help. We had Easter with them this year and it was a blast. I can't imagine how awful living in Texas would be without them. We all have similar interest so we always have a good time. I just hope they know how much I appreciate them and love them.

A hole anyone

So we are the lucky owners of a house that have both our cable companies and the phone companies little towers in our back yard. They are both housed in different corners of our lawn and get dug up pretty often. It usually doesn't bother me because the workers are always polite and are usually pretty quick and don't ever make a big hole. But ..... then there was last week. On Monday there phone company came out and did some work, left a small hole over night but no big deal on Tuesday they were done. On Tuesday the cable company came out and they started digging, digging, digging, and more digging. Now I do let Bradley play outside sometimes but when there are workers or holes in my yard I won't. On Wednesday workers came out and I thought it would be complete, jokes on me. They put up a temporary fence and that is all they did. As you can see in the pictures it was a joke, a good wind would have knocked it over, and at the sight of the fence I was mad and was sick of being nice and called the company to complain and get it finished. I ended up talking to a gal named Mindy who said the will be there on Thursday to finish it. So on Thursday they came back and continued to dig. I got frustrated about 3:45 when they left and started calling the Mindy to get some answers. The final answer I got was "the hole probably looks like a grave, I will put you on the schedule for first thing Friday morning, the part isn't in yet but it will be complete by 10." I agreed, but was still I was tempted to fill it in myself. Well 10 am comes Friday morning and I still have a hole. At 9:30 guys started showing up and digging it deeper and bigger. By 11:30 all I could see was the top of a full grown mans head popping out of the hole, and by noon there was not a worker in site. So again at 3:00 I called the company back and talked to Mindy who said she would send a crew back out to finish (we are now on a first name basis). So by the time I got home from picking Bryan up at the airport, my hole was filled. Here are some pictures. You can't really tell how deep it is, but if I were to have fallen in, I would not have been able to get out.

Hair Bows

So my friend Kathy and I made hair bows the other day for her daughter Emma. She was saying she needed to go buy some and I told her we could make them. They turned out so cute. There is a picture on her blog. My favorites are the pink one and the brown one. We had a blast making them. She came over and Bradley was already asleep and it took so much longer than it should have cause we talked and talked and talked, which without kids screaming in the background is very fun. If you click on her name under the friends and family section she has a pic on her blog. I can't wait to have a little girl, she will always have a bow in her hair, probably bigger than her head at the beginning, but it's ok, we live in Texas now and everything is bigger in Texas. Right?

Ladies eat your heart out..

So I was running to walmart the other day and Bradley always wants my sunglasses. He has his own pair, but there is something about mine that he likes more than his. He always puts them on his head, because that is what I do, so today I was able to snap a picture before he started being silly.
